KATHY
-project aims:
- To
develop third sector, especially social- and healthcare
organisations, information society skills by giving support,
councelling and education
- To
support citizens and different kind of groups (for
example disabled, elderly, unemployed, immigrants) information
society skills
- To
find and develop citizens possibilities to use welfare
services in the web
- To
build up regional social- and healthcare policy by
increasing web-interaction between citizens and regional
welfare strategies
The
information society for all
The
Community Resource Center is the main arena for organisations,
groups, volunteers and voluntary work - for many kinds of
citizens' own activities. There are about 600-1000 visitors
in the center every week. Check

There
is a cafe as a meeting place in the center run by volunteers
from Soroppi. One of the Cafes function is the Internet
Cafe which is managed by The Federation and KATHY-project.
The
main goals of the internet cafe are:
- To
contribute citizens possibilities in using information technology
- To
provide guidance and training especially for elderly and
people with disabilities
- To
develop the up to date communication network for 3. Sector:
non-governmental organisations and other voluntary groups
etc.
In
the internet cafe there are:
- Seven
computers with free internet connections
- A
printer, a copying machine, a fax for citizens and voluntary
groups to use
- Guidance
and training for users
- Internet
groups for elderly and disabled, immigrants and other minorities
